Crappie Fishing Charters: 1-3 people. All Crappie fishing is done on Aaron's bass boat. When fishing for Crappie there are primarily two different kinds in Big Bear Lake, Black Crappie and White Crappie. All crappie fishing is cast and retrieve or casting, there is NO TROLLING. Aaron has a couple of closed face rods and reels for the young or inexperienced and many ultra light rods and reels for those who like. Crappie fishing is primarily done with small jigs. Other lures can be poppers, crank baits, spinners and spoons. Crappie fishing is often combined with Bass fishing and Bluegill fishing. Sometimes people like to mix it up little and try it all. It's very exciting to catch even a small Bass on an ultra light rod and reel set up for Crappie or Bluegill with a 4lb - 6lb test line.
